SNAFU
As you know, this Web log is primarily just an update site for my WordPress Web logs (except for the last several entries, which really need to migrate to a dedicated Blogger site as soon as I can think of a name for it). My latest entries at the WordPress Web logs consist of a notification that the comments are closed. I am dealing with a situation that has reportedly affected 30,000 WordPress Web logs and upwards of 100,000 sites in general. When the situation has been resolved, comments will be reopened and I will resume normal posting. Thank you for your patience.

M.A.R. Barker, 1929-2012
Prof. Muhammad Abd-al-Rahman (M.A.R.) Barker (né Phillip Barker), born 3 November 1929 in Spokane, Washington, passed away at his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Friday, the 16th of March. Barker, an author, linguist, and professor, was the creator of Empire of the Petal Throne, the second role-playing game to be published by TSR (the publisher of Dungeons & Dragons), and the first role-playing game to introduce a developed game world (that of Tékumel). He is survived by Ambereen, his wife of 53 years.

Our hobby has lost one of its brightest stars. Rest in peace, Prof. Barker.

Name It
I need to think of a title for a new gaming Web log or a new title for this one. Any suggestions?

Happy GM's Day
Today, March 4th, is GM's Day, wherein all worthy players are called upon to express their gratitude to their hardworking GMs, and all gamers players and GMs alike take a moment to reflect on the contributions of one of the principal founders of the hobby, E. Gary Gygax, who died on this day.

Dwimmermount Kickstarter Commences
The Dwimmermount Kickstarter, a project for the publication of James Maliszewski's old school Dwimmermount megadungeon campaign (compatible with Labyrinth Lord, Adventurer Conqueror King System, and earlier editions of Dungeons & Dragons and variants), went live yesterday (2 March 2012). If you have enjoyed his Dwimmermount posts in Grognardia, consider supporting this project. (I do!)
